A Celebration of Slow Food: Join Us for Earth Day at Reed's Farm!

Earth Day holds a lot of weight for us at Reed’s Farm. The work we do each day is rooted in caring for the land, growing food that nourishes our community, and creating a space where people can reconnect with both. This day presents a good moment to pause, gather, and share what we do with others.

On April 25th, from 9 AM to 3 PM, we’re hosting an Earth Day Celebration centered around the Slow Food movement and its focus on good, clean, fair food for all. The day brings together a mix of voices from across the food system, including Slow Food USA, local growers, and partners who are all working toward a more thoughtful and connected way of producing and sharing food.

You can spend the day exploring the farm and dropping into different experiences as they unfold. Wood-fired pizzas made with farm-grown ingredients will be available throughout the day, with a special appearance from Chef Dom. Leah and Kristin will lead a guided farm tour at 11:30am, and we’ll be hosting an expert panel discussion at 1 PM, focused on the steps that involved organizations are taking to build a more equitable local food system in Atlantic City. The day will wrap with a book signing and Q&A with Jeff Tkach of Rodale Institute.

We’re also making space for families to enjoy the day together. Face painting will be available in the late morning, and there’s plenty of room to wander, explore, and spend time outside.
