The start of a new year often brings with it opportunities for growth, and here at Reed's Farm, we’ve embraced this season of renewal with exciting updates to our space and plans for the future.
We’ve made a few renovations to enhance the experience for our visitors and staff. Our kitchen now has a brand-new floor that’s ready to support our staff in whipping up their tasty culinary creations. The walls in our market got a fresh coat of paint, giving the space a bright and welcoming feel.
Finally, our herbal workshop has been spruced up, creating a more open space in which our herbalist can craft tinctures, tonics, and other herbal products. These improvements reflect our commitment to making Reed’s Farm a vibrant, enjoyable place for everyone.
As of January 23rd, we’re officially reopened and ready to dive into what we know will be a successful and exciting year. Looking ahead, we’ve got plenty of projects in the works:
Planting Blueberry Bushes, Strawberry Plants and Rhubarb: This spring, we’ll be planting new patches of blueberry bushes, strawberries, and rhubarb. While the fruits of these plants won’t be ready for harvest this year, we’re already imagining the future summers when we can share their bounty with you.
Building a Hoop Barn: To better preserve and store our tools and equipment, we’ll be constructing a hoop barn. This addition will help us stay organized and ready for all the tasks that keep the farm running smoothly.
Constructing a Pergola: We plan to build a pergola outside of the market. Once completed, it will be planted with maypops and hardy kiwis and offer an edible shaded spot for visitors to relax and soak up the farm’s atmosphere.
Expanding Our Vegetable Fields to Address Food Insecurity in Atlantic City: We’re preparing to cultivate a brand-new 42-row vegetable field. This project represents a major step in our efforts to grow even more fresh, nutritious produce for our community.
These plans reflect our vision of growth and connection and the steps we're taking to get there - from tending to the soil to creating spaces that invite you to linger and feel at home. We’re excited for the year ahead and can’t wait to share these developments with you as they unfold.
We hope to see you soon at Reed’s Farm. Whether you’re here to explore the market, attend a workshop, or simply take in the sights and sounds of the farm, we’re thrilled to welcome you back and kick off a new chapter together.
