Reed’s Organic Farm is a nonprofit regenerative farm and animal sanctuary located in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.  Our location is uniquely suited for our mission in our community, which is to become essentially a community hub for organic healthy food and an educational resource. Our vision involves working with underserved community members through programming and workforce development as well as helping to build a healthier food system with focus on nearby Atlantic City. We are eager to begin the next phase of operations with a new commercial kitchen and market being built in our pole barn. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for someone to join our seasonal farm crew! This person will be a positive addition to a fast paced environment where our days become very dynamic. This person will help with seeding, transplanting, harvesting, cultivating, trellising, pruning, field work and maintaining gardens and fields in our regenerative farm production. We also grow cut flowers here along with extensive herbal gardens and have a tree donation program as well. We have a farmer’s market onsite where we sell our organically grown produce and grab and go food selections 5 days a week during peak summer season months and participate in a seasonal farmer’s market. 

 

The farm crew teammate will work alongside the Farm Manager and Farm Director with our current staff to execute daily and seasonal needs Monday-Friday with some weekend days thrown in throughout the season contingent on events and workshops we host on site. Pay is dependent on experience.

 

Requirements

-1+ year experience working with plants

-Must be able to lift 50 lbs 

-Willingness and ability to work in all weather conditions 

-Excellent work ethic 

-Works well both alone and with a team 

-Pays close attention to detail while working efficiently 

-Excellent communication skills

-Adaptable

COMPENSATION

this position is : hourly, $16/hr + depending on experience
